Which Mobility Aid Is Right for You?

Mobility Scooters: Best for people who can walk short distances but struggle with longer distances. Available in 3-wheel and 4-wheel configurations, boot scooters for car transport, and heavy-duty outdoor models. Funded under NDIS Capital Supports with an OT assessment.

Power Wheelchairs: For users with limited or no functional walking capacity who need a powered device for indoor and outdoor mobility. Offer greater manoeuvrability in the home than scooters and are recommended for users with upper or lower limb weakness or neurological impairments.

Manual Wheelchairs: Suited to users who have a carer available to push, or those with sufficient upper body strength to self-propel. Lightweight folding manual chairs are ideal for car travel and active users.

Rollator Walkers: 4-wheel rollators provide stability support with a built-in seat and basket. Suitable for users who can walk but need balance support and the ability to stop and sit.

Walking Frames & Sticks: Walking frames and quad canes provide maximum stability for users with significant balance impairment. Best for indoor use and short-distance walking.

Frequently Asked Questions — Mobility Aids & NDIS

How do I know which mobility aid I need?

The right mobility aid depends on how far you can walk safely, your balance, upper body strength, and where you’ll primarily use the equipment. An OT assessment provides the most accurate prescription. Our pharmacist can also guide you through the options based on your clinical picture before you see an OT.

Are mobility aids funded by NDIS?

Yes. Mobility scooters, power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, and walking aids are funded under NDIS Assistive Technology (Support Category 05) for participants with a confirmed functional impairment. Connect Mobility provides NDIS-compliant quotes for participants across Australia.

Do you offer free in-home trials for mobility aids?

Yes. Free in-home trials are available across Wollondilly, Macarthur, and the Southern Highlands. We bring the equipment to your home so you can trial it through your doorways, on your floors, and in the spaces you use daily — before any NDIS funding is committed.

How quickly can I get an NDIS quote for mobility equipment?

We provide NDIS-compliant quotes within 2 hours for participants anywhere in Australia. Quotes are addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator and priced within the current NDIS AT Price Guide 2025–26.

Do you deliver mobility aids Australia-wide?

Yes. We deliver all mobility aids to every state and territory across Australia. Free in-home trials across Macarthur, Wollondilly, and the Southern Highlands. Free shipping on orders over $500 nationally.
