High-back chairs, patient seating, lift recliners, overbed tables, and positioning chairs for clinical and home use — all available with NDIS funding. At Connect Mobility, our pharmacist-led team provides clinical guidance on correct seating prescription to ensure the right product for your specific postural and functional needs. Free in-home trials across Wollondilly, Macarthur and the Southern Highlands. Australia-wide delivery.

Power lift recliners and clinical seating are funded under NDIS Assistive Technology (Support Category 05) for participants where sit-to-stand transfers or postural support are a clinical need. An OT assessment is typically required for complex seating solutions.

Choosing the Right Chair or Table — Clinical Guide

High-Back & Supportive Chairs: Provide head and neck support for users with poor trunk control or fatigue conditions. Lateral supports, headrests, and adjustable armrests can be added for users with more complex postural needs. An OT assessment is recommended to ensure correct seating prescription.

Power Lift Recliners: Assist users with sit-to-stand transfers — one of the most common causes of falls and strain for both the user and carer. A single-motor chair reclines back and footrest together; a dual-motor chair controls each independently for infinite positioning.

Perching Stools: Allow users to adopt a semi-standing posture at a kitchen bench or workstation, reducing fatigue for people who struggle to stand for extended periods but cannot sit fully.

Overbed & Adjustable Tables: Height-adjustable tables on wheels that position over a bed, chair, or wheelchair. Essential for eating, using a device, or working while seated or in bed.

Seating for Pressure Care: Extended time in a chair without pressure redistribution causes tissue damage. Specialised seating cushions and clinical chairs with pressure-redistribution properties are available for users at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions — Chairs, Tables & NDIS

Is a lift recliner chair funded by NDIS?

Yes. Power lift recliners are funded under NDIS Assistive Technology (Support Category 05) for participants where sit-to-stand transfers are a clinical need. An OT assessment is typically required. Connect Mobility provides same-day NDIS-compliant quotes for participants across Australia.

What is the difference between a single and dual motor lift chair?

A single-motor chair moves the back and footrest together — ideal for users who simply want to sit, recline, and stand. A dual-motor chair controls each independently, allowing a footrest-up/back-upright position or flat zero-gravity — recommended for users with oedema, back pain, or who spend extended time in the chair.

Do you offer free in-home trials for chairs?

Yes. Free in-home trials are available across Wollondilly, Macarthur, and the Southern Highlands. Trialling a chair in your home is especially important — what feels comfortable in a showroom may not suit your body dimensions, home layout, or daily routine.

Do I need an OT to get a high-back chair through NDIS?

For most complex seating solutions, an OT assessment is recommended. For standard lift recliners and overbed tables, an OT report may not be required depending on cost and plan type. Our team can advise.

Do you deliver chairs and tables Australia-wide?

Yes. We deliver to all states and territories across Australia. Free in-home trials across Macarthur, Wollondilly, and the Southern Highlands. Free shipping on orders over $500 nationally. Lift chairs and large seating items may require specialist freight.
