How does a bath transfer bench work?
A bath transfer bench straddles both sides of the bath tub — half on the outside, half inside. The user sits on the outside portion, then slides across to the inside without needing to step over the tub edge. This eliminates the most dangerous part of bathing for users with limited mobility, reducing fall risk significantly. Some models include sliding seats or rotating seats to make the transfer even easier.
Will it fit my bath?
Most bath transfer benches are designed to fit standard Australian bath tubs. The bench legs on each side grip the inside and outside of the tub. Check the seat height range against your tub wall height before ordering — the seat should sit approximately level with the top of the tub rim. If you have an unusually tall, sunken, or corner bath, contact our team for guidance before purchasing.
