About This Product

The Comforter Chair Wide is a bariatric lift chair engineered to deliver superior comfort and safe positioning for clients who require a wider, more robustly supported seating solution. With a generous 700mm seat width, 545mm seat depth, and a maximum user weight rating of 225kg, this chair is purpose-built for bariatric and higher-needs clients in home, aged care, and supported living environments across Australia. The reinforced frame and twin-motor lift mechanism provide the increased capacity required to assist users safely from a seated to a standing position, reducing the physical burden on both the client and their carers. Comfort is central to the Comforter Chair Wide's design. The full chaise pad and padded leg-rest — which rises in synchrony with the backrest — ensure excellent pressure distribution and postural support throughout the full range of positions. The chair is supplied complete with a head cover, arm covers, and a magazine pocket, reflecting the attention to detail that makes it appropriate for long-term daily use. Manufactured in the USA, it is available in a range of fabrics and vinyls to suit individual preferences and clinical requirements. With a back height of 685mm and arm height of 180mm, the Comforter Chair Wide accommodates a variety of body types while maintaining ergonomic integrity. It is an ideal solution for occupational therapist prescription and may be funded through an NDIS plan under Assistive Technology or through Home Care Package (HCP) funding. Connect Mobility is proud to offer this chair as part of its commitment to providing quality, dignified seating solutions for Australians living with disability or age-related conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a lift chair be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Electric lift recline chairs are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology — Higher Cost, or as part of an Aged Care Home Care Package. An occupational therapist assessment is typically required to confirm clinical need. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
How do I choose the right lift chair size?
The key measurements are seat width, seat depth and seat-to-floor height. As a guide: seat width should be 2–4cm wider than the user's hips; seat depth should allow the user to sit back with 2–3cm clearance behind the knees; seat-to-floor height should allow feet to rest flat on the floor with knees at 90°. If you're between sizes or unsure, contact our team — we'll help you measure correctly and find the right fit.
What is the difference between single motor and dual motor lift chairs?
A single motor chair reclines the back and raises the footrest together in one movement — ideal for users who simply want to sit, recline and stand. A dual motor chair controls the backrest and footrest independently, allowing infinite positioning — for example, raising the footrest while keeping the backrest upright, or achieving a zero-gravity position. Dual motor chairs are generally recommended for users with oedema, back pain, or who spend extended time in the chair.
What happens if the power goes out?
All Pride Mobility and Aspire lift chairs featured on this page include an integrated battery backup system. If power is lost, the backup battery allows the chair to complete its current movement and return to the seated position so the user can safely stand. We recommend checking your specific model's battery backup specifications — contact us if you have questions.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–7 business days depending on your location — lift chairs are large items and may require a different delivery service to standard parcels. Contact us before ordering if you need a firm delivery timeframe or have access restrictions at your property.
Can I return it if it's not right?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to the size and nature of lift chairs, we strongly recommend confirming the right model with our team before purchasing — we can arrange a trial at our Picton showroom. If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, we'll resolve it promptly.
