About This Product

The Slipper Bed Pan has a low-profile, wedge-shaped design that slides easily under the user from the side, making it suitable for patients who cannot be lifted. The slimline profile is more comfortable than a standard bed pan for users who are unable to raise their hips significantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a standard and slipper bed pan?
A standard (high) bed pan requires the user to lift their hips significantly to position it correctly. A slipper (low-profile) bed pan has a tapered front edge that slides easily under the user from the side with minimal hip lift, making it more suitable for patients who cannot lift themselves or have limited mobility. We recommend the slipper bed pan for most home care situations.
Can a bed pan be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Bed pans are fundable under NDIS Assistive Technology (Low Cost) or Aged Care Home Care Packages as part of a continence management plan recommended by a continence nurse or occupational therapist. Our team can provide NDIS-compliant invoices and assist with the funding process.
What does 'autoclavable' mean and do I need it?
Autoclavable means the bed pan can be sterilised in an autoclave (high-pressure steam steriliser) at temperatures up to 134°C. This is required in clinical settings such as hospitals and aged care facilities where equipment must be fully sterilised between patients. For home use with a single user, standard cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectant is sufficient — an autoclavable model is not necessary.
How do I clean and disinfect a bed pan at home?
After each use, empty the bed pan and rinse with cold water. Wash with warm soapy water using a long-handled brush, then soak in a diluted hospital-grade disinfectant solution for 15–30 minutes. Rinse again and allow to air dry. Store in a clean, dry location. Replace the bed pan if cracks or damage are visible.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition. For hygiene reasons, bed pans that have been used cannot be returned. If a product arrives faulty or incorrect, we will resolve it promptly. Contact our team if you are unsure which type of bed pan is most suitable.
