About This Product

The Walking Tutor with Padded Rest takes a fundamentally different approach to forearm support walking. Rather than individual arm gutters, it features a broad central padded rest — 600 mm wide by 400 mm deep — that the user leans into with their entire upper body. This design is ideal for people with very limited hand and wrist strength who struggle to grip handles at all, as it allows the user to support their weight through the chest and abdomen area rather than through the hands or forearms alone. The padded rest height adjusts from 960 to 1400 mm, providing a wide range of positions to accommodate different heights and to allow clinicians to set the user in the appropriate degree of forward lean for their gait pattern and balance. The hand grip is also independently adjustable to suit individual forearm length and reduce strain on the wrists during movement. Four swivel castors provide smooth manoeuvrability on indoor flooring, and the frame folds almost flat for storage and transport. Maximum user weight is 100 kg. A complementary variant, the Walking Tutor with Padded Rest and Rear Glides (HC0160), is also available for users who prefer rear leg gliding over castor rolling. The standard model measures 630 mm wide by 830 mm deep. It is well suited to users in post-acute care, home rehabilitation, or community living programs where upright posture assistance and reduced hand loading are the primary clinical goals. NDIS-fundable under Assistive Technology supports and commonly prescribed by occupational therapists and physiotherapists managing clients with significant upper limb or neurological impairment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this forearm walker NDIS-fundable?
Yes. Forearm walkers are fundable under the NDIS Assistive Technology — Low Cost category. We provide NDIS invoices and can assist with quotes for your plan manager or support coordinator. Contact us and we'll handle the paperwork.
What's the difference between a forearm walker and a standard walker?
A forearm walker supports your weight through your forearms and upper body, not just your hands and wrists. This makes it ideal if you have limited grip strength, arthritis, or hand pain. Your arms rest in padded gutters so you can walk with a more upright posture and less strain on your joints.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer.
Can I return it if it's not right?
Returns are accepted within 30 days, provided the product is brand new and unused in its original packaging. We're unable to accept returns for change of mind on used items. If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, we'll resolve it promptly — just get in touch and we'll take care of you.
Do you offer a trial before I buy?
Yes — we offer in-person trials at our Picton showroom, where you can try products before committing to a purchase. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to find a solution that works for you, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area.
