About This Product

The CuroCell A4 CX15 is an alternating pressure mattress replacement system made by Care of Sweden. It takes the place of a standard mattress on a home, hospital or aged care bed and actively works to prevent and treat pressure injuries up to and including category 4. What sets the CX15 apart within the range is its layered build. The 15 cm alternating cells sit over a safety mattress in air, so there is always a supportive layer between the person and the bed base, even while a damaged cell is being swapped. Static cells at the head end keep the pillow area steady while the rest of the mattress works, and an integrated heel function takes load off one of the most vulnerable pressure injury sites. The pump is fully automatic. It identifies the user and optimises pressure to suit them, with no manual settings to get wrong. Carers can choose Pulsating, Alternating or CLP (constant low pressure) programs, switch to Caring mode (max firm) for transfers and personal care, and pack the mattress away with the Pack&Go function. It runs silently on low voltage 12 V power, and smart cable management keeps leads clear of the bed. The four-way stretch cover is vapour permeable to protect skin from maceration, fluid resistant, machine washable to 95 degrees and tumble dry safe. Air cells are individually replaceable, and the CPR function deflates the mattress rapidly in an emergency, with a transport mode for moves between beds. Key features: • Active alternating pressure replacement system for pressure injuries up to category 4 • 15 cm air cells over a safety mattress in air, keeping support under the person at all times • Static head cells hold the pillow area steady • Integrated heel function offloads the heels • Individually replaceable air cells • Fully automatic pump identifies the user, no manual settings • Three program modes: Pulsating, Alternating and CLP (constant low pressure) • Caring mode (max firm) for transfers and personal care • Pack&Go function and CPR with a transport mode • Silent, vibration free running on low voltage 12 V power • Smart cable management keeps leads tidy and clear of the bed • Four-way stretch cover, vapour permeable, fluid resistant, machine washable to 95 degrees

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Non-powered pressure relieving mattresses and overlays are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by a clinician — typically an occupational therapist or wound care nurse. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
Can I trial the product before buying?
Yes — we offer in-person demonstrations at our Picton showroom. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to help, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area who can assist with product selection and trial.
