About This Product
The CuroCell Area Zone is a non-powered self-adjusting mattress replacement system from Care of Sweden. Nine air cells, divided into zones, adapt automatically to the user's weight and shape, and multiple foam layers keep the surface comfortable. It helps prevent and treat pressure injuries up to and including category 3 as part of an individual care plan.
Because there is no pump, there is nothing to plug in, no motor humming through the night and no power failure to worry about. The cells redistribute pressure continuously as the person moves and repositions. An integrated heel function reduces pressure at the heels without any extra positioning aids.
It is a strong choice for larger bodies. The maximum user weight is 230 kg, and reinforced sides improve lateral stability at the edge of the mattress. Integrated handles make it easier to carry and position on the bed, and day to day it is low maintenance by design.
Hygiene is handled properly. A multi-functional inner cover reduces shear forces against the skin. The four-way stretch outer cover meets European hygiene, quality and safety regulations, is vapour permeable and fluid resistant, and both mattress and cover machine wash at up to 95 degrees then tumble dry.

What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
