About This Product

The CuroCell Cirrus is a fully automatic alternating pressure mattress replacement system from Swedish pressure care specialist Care of Sweden. It is built for people at high risk of pressure injuries, and for those already being treated for them, whether that care happens at home, in aged care or in hospital. Most alternating mattresses shift their air cells in blunt on and off steps. The Cirrus works differently. Its cells move pressure along the mattress in a smooth, wave-like cycle, which is why clinicians often choose it when pain therapy matters as much as pressure care. Air does the clinical work while multiple layers of foam do the comfort work, so it feels like a proper bed rather than a piece of equipment. The pump looks after itself. It adapts to the user's weight and position automatically, runs near silently through the night, and raises both sound and light alarms if pressure drops or power fails. Carers can switch between Alternating, Pulsation and Static modes to suit the person's needs on any given day. The integrated heel function takes extra load off one of the most vulnerable parts of the body, and if a cell is ever damaged you replace that cell, not the whole mattress. Hygiene is simple too. The four-way stretch cover reduces shear against the skin, is vapour permeable and fluid resistant, and both the cover and mattress can be machine washed at up to 95 degrees then tumble dried. Key features: • Active alternating pressure system for the treatment of pressure injuries • Unique wave-like alternating cycle, well suited to pain therapy • Air cells combined with layered foam for comfort and pressure distribution • Fully automatic pump adapts to the user's weight and position • Near silent operation with sound and light alarms for low pressure or power failure • Three program modes: Alternating, Pulsation and Static • Integrated heel function for targeted offloading • Individually replaceable air cells • CPR function with rapid deflation and a transport mode • Four-way stretch hygienic cover, vapour permeable and fluid resistant • Mattress and cover machine washable to 95 degrees, tumble dry safe • Maximum user weight 230 kg

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Non-powered pressure relieving mattresses and overlays are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by a clinician — typically an occupational therapist or wound care nurse. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
Can I trial the product before buying?
Yes — we offer in-person demonstrations at our Picton showroom. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to help, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area who can assist with product selection and trial.
