About This Product

The CuroCell IQ Cirrus is a fully automatic mattress replacement system from Swedish pressure care specialist Care of Sweden. It is built to prevent and treat pressure injuries up to and including category 4, including unclassified injuries, whether care happens at home, in aged care or in hospital. You do not set anything. The control unit senses the user's weight and position and regulates the internal pressure on its own, through the night and every time the person moves. Air does the clinical work while a soft foam surface does the comfort work, so it still feels like a bed rather than a piece of equipment. Instead of blunt on and off steps, the IQ Cirrus runs a pulsating mode. Cells partially empty in a steady rhythm, which lowers the maximum pressure against the skin and keeps the mattress movement gentle. Comfort and stability improve together. A caring mode sets the surface to max-firm when carers need a stable base, and audible and visual notifications flag anything that needs attention. The pump is silent and vibration free, with sound levels from 17 dBA, and it runs on a low voltage 12 V supply with smart cable management. A heel slope redistributes pressure away from the heels. The Pack and Go function deflates the mattress for packing at the press of a button, the CPR function empties it fast in an emergency, and the transport mode holds air for at least 12 hours off power. Hygiene is straightforward. The four-way stretch cover has welded seams, is vapour permeable to reduce the risk of skin maceration, and is made from recyclable materials. Machine wash it at up to 95 degrees, then tumble dry. Key features: • Prevents and treats pressure injuries up to and including category 4, including unclassified injuries • Air cells with a soft foam surface for pressure redistribution and comfort • Automatic control unit adjusts pressure to the user's weight and position, no manual settings • Pulsating mode lowers peak skin pressure with gentle mattress movement • Caring mode (max-firm) gives a stable surface for care routines • Heel slope for pressure redistribution at the heels • Silent and vibration free, with sound levels from 17 dBA • Audible and visual notifications for carers • Pack and Go function for one-button deflation and packing • CPR function with a transport mode that holds air for at least 12 hours • Low voltage 12 V supply with smart cable management and air flow control • Four-way stretch hygienic cover, vapour permeable with welded seams, washable to 95 degrees • Maximum user weight 230 kg

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Non-powered pressure relieving mattresses and overlays are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by a clinician — typically an occupational therapist or wound care nurse. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
Can I trial the product before buying?
Yes — we offer in-person demonstrations at our Picton showroom. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to help, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area who can assist with product selection and trial.
