About This Product

Reaching your own back is one of those small jobs that quietly becomes impossible. The BakSlap holds a sponge on the end of a handle that extends up to 37cm, so you can get to your back, shoulders and lower legs without excessive twisting or bending. It works with sunscreen, moisturiser and topical creams, and handles lotions, creams and gels equally well. The whole thing is light enough to hold out at arm's length. The sponge attaches with hook and loop, so it pulls off for washing and goes back on in seconds. Two reusable sponges come in the box, and replacements are available separately under product 36013. A protective lid seals over the sponge when you are not using it, which keeps cream off your bathroom shelf and stops the sponge drying out hard. Collapse the handle back down and it fits in a drawer or a travel bag. Key features: - Handle extends up to 37cm for back, shoulders and lower legs - Suits lotions, creams and gels - Two reusable sponges included - Sponges attach with hook and loop and pull off for washing - Protective sealing lid covers the sponge between uses - Lightweight to hold at full reach

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are daily living aids designed for?
Daily living aids are designed for anyone who finds tasks like dressing, grooming, or putting on stockings difficult due to reduced flexibility, limited range of motion, joint pain, or weakness. They are commonly used by people recovering from surgery, living with arthritis, Parkinson's, stroke, MS, or simply managing the effects of ageing.
Can daily living aids be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Many daily living aids are fundable under NDIS Assistive Technology (Low Cost) or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by an occupational therapist as part of a home assessment. Our team can provide NDIS-compliant invoices and assist with the funding process.
What is the best aid for putting on stockings or compression socks?
We stock several stocking aid designs to suit different needs. The standard plastic gutter aid suits open-weave or loose socks. Fabric gutter aids (Soxon, Terry Towling) are gentler for delicate or compression hosiery. The Smik Medi Butler suits pantyhose and provides frame stability for those with low balance. An OT can help identify the right option for your stocking type and hand function.
Can I try before I buy?
Yes — we offer in-person trials at our Picton showroom for many products. Can't make it in? Our team can advise over the phone or via email, and our OT network can arrange a home assessment if needed. Contact us on 1300 216 888.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition. If a product arrives faulty or incorrect, we will resolve it promptly. Contact our team before purchase if you are unsure which product best suits your needs.
