About This Product

This is an oval foam cushion with a coccyx cut out at the back. The gap means your tailbone sits over open air rather than pressing into the chair. It is designed to reduce pressure on the perineal region as well. It suits anyone who has been told to keep pressure off that area while they sit. The top is convoluted foam, the egg carton style surface, so contact is spread across the peaks rather than pressed flat across the whole seat. The soft black cover is washable, so take it off and launder it rather than trying to clean the foam. Sit with the cut out at the back, under your tailbone, not at the front. It is DVA approved. Key features: - Oval foam cushion with a convoluted egg foam top - Coccyx cut out relieves pressure on the tailbone - Designed to reduce pressure on the perineal region - Washable soft black cover - DVA approved

Frequently Asked Questions

Can pressure care cushions be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Pressure care and positioning cushions are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology when prescribed by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or seating specialist following a seating assessment. Higher-cost cushions (ROHO, Jay range, Equagel) typically require a formal OT or seating assessment for NDIS funding. They can also be funded under Aged Care Home Care Packages. Our team can provide NDIS-compliant invoices.
How do I choose between foam, gel, and air cushions?
Foam cushions (Jay Basic, All Purpose, Posture Wedge) suit users with low to moderate pressure risk who need everyday comfort. Gel cushions (Gel-T, Equagel) provide better pressure redistribution and temperature regulation for moderate risk users. Air cushions (ROHO) provide the highest level of pressure redistribution and are typically prescribed for users with active pressure injuries or high risk. A seating specialist or OT can recommend the most appropriate option following assessment.
Do I need an OT assessment to purchase a cushion?
For lower-cost comfort cushions, you can purchase without an assessment. For clinical pressure care cushions (ROHO, Jay range, Equagel) that will be NDIS-funded, a seating assessment by an OT or physiotherapist is generally required. Our team works closely with OTs and can help connect you with one in your area. Call us on 1300 216 888.
How do I clean a pressure care cushion?
Most cushion covers are removable and machine washable. Foam inserts should be spot cleaned only — do not submerge foam in water. Gel and fluid inserts can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild disinfectant. ROHO air cushions can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Check individual product care instructions as cleaning methods vary by cushion type.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition. For hygiene reasons, cushions that have been used cannot be returned. We strongly recommend confirming the correct cushion type with our team or an OT before purchasing, particularly for clinical pressure care products.
