About This Product

A transit chair is pushed by someone else, so the rear wheels are small and there are no hand rims to push on yourself. That keeps the chair narrower and lighter than a self propelled one. The TA1 has a lightweight aluminium frame with 12 inch rear wheels and 6 inch front castors, and locking attendant brakes for the person pushing. It supports users up to 125kg. The arm rests come off and the leg rests swing away and lift out, which clears the side of the chair for a transfer onto a bed or into a car seat. The backrest folds down and the frame folds, so it packs flat into a boot rather than filling it. It comes in blue, red and champagne gold, and it is DVA approved. Key features: - Lightweight aluminium frame - Removable arm rests for side transfers - Swingaway removable leg rests - Fold down backrest and folding frame for storage - 12 inch rear wheels with 6 inch front castors - Locking attendant brakes, supports up to 125kg

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this wheelchair NDIS-fundable?
Yes. Manual wheelchairs can be funded under NDIS Assistive Technology — either Low Cost or Higher Cost depending on the chair and your support needs. Specialised or tilt-in-space chairs generally fall under Higher Cost. Our team can assist with quotes, OT referrals, and plan manager invoicing — contact us to get started.
How do I choose the right seat width?
Measure the widest point of your hips and thighs when seated, then add approximately 25–50mm for comfort. If you're between sizes, our team can help — contact us before ordering and we'll make sure you get the right fit. For complex needs, an OT assessment is recommended.
Can I trial one at your showroom?
Yes — we offer in-person trials at our Picton showroom. For NDIS-funded purchases, your occupational therapist may also need to assess and prescribe before purchase. Contact our team and we'll coordinate everything, including referrals to local allied health professionals if needed.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. For larger or bariatric wheelchairs, our team will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery window. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer.
Can I return it if it doesn't suit?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products that are brand new and unused in their original packaging. We strongly recommend confirming the correct seat width with our team before ordering. For NDIS-funded purchases, please contact your plan manager before initiating a return.
