A worn cane tip is a slip waiting to happen. The rubber goes smooth, the edge rounds off, and the cane starts sliding out from under you on tile and polished timber. This is a replacement tip, also called a ferrule, for walking canes with a 16mm diameter tube. Measure the tube itself, not the old tip, before you order. There is a 19mm version if yours is the larger size. The base is grooved, which clears water out from under the rubber and gives it something to bite with. Inside there is a metal washer insert that stops the end of the cane shaft wearing through the rubber from the inside. The tip is black, 30mm across the base and 45mm tall. Push the old one off, press the new one on firmly, and check it is seated all the way before you take weight.
