Frequently Asked Questions

Can a lift chair be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Electric lift recline chairs are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology — Higher Cost, or as part of an Aged Care Home Care Package. An occupational therapist assessment is typically required to confirm clinical need. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
How do I choose the right lift chair size?
The key measurements are seat width, seat depth and seat-to-floor height. As a guide: seat width should be 2–4cm wider than the user's hips; seat depth should allow the user to sit back with 2–3cm clearance behind the knees; seat-to-floor height should allow feet to rest flat on the floor with knees at 90°. If you're between sizes or unsure, contact our team — we'll help you measure correctly and find the right fit.
What is the difference between single motor and dual motor lift chairs?
A single motor chair reclines the back and raises the footrest together in one movement — ideal for users who simply want to sit, recline and stand. A dual motor chair controls the backrest and footrest independently, allowing infinite positioning — for example, raising the footrest while keeping the backrest upright, or achieving a zero-gravity position. Dual motor chairs are generally recommended for users with oedema, back pain, or who spend extended time in the chair.
What happens if the power goes out?
All Pride Mobility and Aspire lift chairs featured on this page include an integrated battery backup system. If power is lost, the backup battery allows the chair to complete its current movement and return to the seated position so the user can safely stand. We recommend checking your specific model's battery backup specifications — contact us if you have questions.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–7 business days depending on your location — lift chairs are large items and may require a different delivery service to standard parcels. Contact us before ordering if you need a firm delivery timeframe or have access restrictions at your property.
Can I return it if it's not right?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to the size and nature of lift chairs, we strongly recommend confirming the right model with our team before purchasing — we can arrange a trial at our Picton showroom. If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, we'll resolve it promptly.
