About This Product

The ROHO Mattress System brings DRY FLOATATION pressure care to the whole bed, not just the wheelchair. It is a non-powered overlay that lies on top of an existing mattress, divided into four sections that fasten together with press studs. Each section is either a ROHO air section or a foam section, so the surface is built around the person rather than bought as one fixed block. That mix and match design is the clever part. Place ROHO air sections under the areas where pressure risk is highest, usually the torso, hips and heels, and foam sections where the risk is lower. It keeps the clinical protection where it matters and the cost of the system sensible. Needs change later? Swap a foam section for an air section without replacing the whole overlay. The ROHO sections work exactly like the cushions that made the brand famous. Interconnected neoprene air cells let the body sink in and be fully supported, spreading weight across the whole surface instead of concentrating it on bony points. The cell shape promotes blood circulation to help prevent pressure injuries and support healing, and the flexible cells reduce shear on fragile skin during repositioning and transfers. Air pressure is adjustable with the supplied pump, so each section is tuned to the person lying on it. There is no motor, no cable and no pump running overnight. The neoprene is soft on sensitive skin and easily cleaned, and the foam section comes with a waterproof cover. Each section measures 860 x 510 x 90 mm, and there is no user weight limit provided the sections are correctly adjusted. Key features: • Non-powered DRY FLOATATION mattress overlay system for pressure injury prevention, healing and relief • Bed surface divided into four sections, each ROHO air or foam, to suit individual needs • Sections fasten together easily with press studs • Interconnected air cells promote blood circulation and spread weight across the surface • Air pressure is adjustable and customised to the user with the supplied pump • Flexible cells adapt to body contours and reduce shear during transfers and repositioning • Durable neoprene construction, soft on sensitive skin and easily cleaned • Foam section includes a waterproof cover, for areas where pressure risk is lower • Section size 860 x 510 x 90 mm • No user weight limit when correctly adjusted

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Non-powered pressure relieving mattresses and overlays are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by a clinician — typically an occupational therapist or wound care nurse. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
Can I trial the product before buying?
Yes — we offer in-person demonstrations at our Picton showroom. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to help, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area who can assist with product selection and trial.
