About This Product

The Extend A Rail does two jobs. Use it short, at 50cm, as a handle to push up on when you are getting in and out of bed. Press the button and it extends to 75cm, so there is a longer barrier along the edge for the night. It suits anyone who feels unsteady standing from bed, or who worries about rolling too close to the edge. It fits either side of the bed and attaches to a home bed or a hospital bed with the safety strap that comes with it. Measure your mattress first, because it is made for mattresses 20 to 40cm thick. The rail sits 50cm above the base of the mattress and the gap between the rails is 10cm. Installation takes a few minutes with two bolts and the small spanner in the box. Key features: - Locks at 50cm as a handle and 75cm as a longer bed rail - Extends at the push of a button - Supports up to 130kg - Fits mattresses 20 to 40cm thick, home or hospital beds - Secures with the included safety strap - Installs in minutes using two bolts and the supplied spanner

Frequently Asked Questions

Can bed rails be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Bed rails and bed sticks are funded under NDIS Low Cost Assistive Technology (they typically fall well under the $1,500 threshold) and can also be included in Aged Care Home Care Packages. Our team can provide a quote addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
Will this bed rail fit my bed?
Compatibility depends on the rail type and your bed. Hook-type and dropside rails slide between the mattress and base — they work with most standard beds but not platform or slatted bases without a solid base underneath. Check the maximum mattress depth and base type in the product specifications. If in doubt, contact our team before ordering.
Are bed rails safe to use at home?
Bed rails, when correctly fitted and matched to the user, significantly reduce the risk of rolling out of bed and assist with repositioning. It is important to choose a rail that fits correctly — gaps between the rail and mattress can present an entrapment risk. Our pharmacist-led team can help you choose the right rail for your situation, and we recommend an OT assessment for anyone with high fall risk.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition in their original packaging. If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, we will resolve it promptly.
