About This Product

Getting out of bed is where a lot of falls start. The Bedside Sturdy Rail gives you a fixed handle to push down on as you swing your legs out and stand up. Its legs run all the way to the floor, so your weight goes into the ground rather than into the edge of the mattress. This is a half size rail, which makes it good for standing. If your main aim is stopping someone rolling out of bed at night, the Bedside Extend-A-Rail is the better choice. The frame slides under the mattress and secures with the safety strap that comes with it, so it fits home beds and hospital beds. Height adjusts from 33 to 53cm, measured from the floor to the horizontal support under the mattress, and that support runs 56cm in under the mattress. The frame is steel with a powder coat finish. An organiser pouch hangs off the rail for a phone, glasses or the TV remote. Key features: - Sturdy handle to hold when getting in and out of bed - Legs extend to the floor for extra stability - Height adjusts from 33 to 53cm, floor to the support under the mattress - Fits home and hospital beds using the included safety strap - Organiser pouch keeps small items within reach - Steel frame with a powder coat finish

Frequently Asked Questions

Can bed rails be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Bed rails and bed sticks are funded under NDIS Low Cost Assistive Technology (they typically fall well under the $1,500 threshold) and can also be included in Aged Care Home Care Packages. Our team can provide a quote addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
Will this bed rail fit my bed?
Compatibility depends on the rail type and your bed. Hook-type and dropside rails slide between the mattress and base — they work with most standard beds but not platform or slatted bases without a solid base underneath. Check the maximum mattress depth and base type in the product specifications. If in doubt, contact our team before ordering.
Are bed rails safe to use at home?
Bed rails, when correctly fitted and matched to the user, significantly reduce the risk of rolling out of bed and assist with repositioning. It is important to choose a rail that fits correctly — gaps between the rail and mattress can present an entrapment risk. Our pharmacist-led team can help you choose the right rail for your situation, and we recommend an OT assessment for anyone with high fall risk.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition in their original packaging. If you receive a faulty or incorrect product, we will resolve it promptly.
