About This Product

The CuroCell A4 CX20 is the tallest and highest capacity mattress in Care of Sweden's A4 alternating pressure range. A full replacement system rated to 250 kg, it is the model we recommend when pressure care needs are complex or the person needs more depth under them than a standard air mattress can give. Like the rest of the A4 family, it aids in the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries up to and including category 4. 20 cm of alternating air cells give the body room to sink in and stay supported while pressure moves along the mattress in cycles. Static cells at the head end keep the pillow area steady, and the integrated heel function takes load off the heels without wedges or extra positioning aids. A multi-functional inner cover works across the whole surface to reduce shear forces on fragile skin. The fully automated pump adapts to the user on its own, holding the right pressure for their weight and position without any manual input. Pulsation is the default program, with Alternating and CLP (constant low pressure) also on hand, and controlled air flow keeps pressure constant while trimming energy use. Audible and visible notifications let carers know the moment anything changes. The practical touches matter in daily care. Pack&Go deflates the mattress at the press of a button, so nobody has to squeeze air out of a used mattress by hand. The CPR function dumps air rapidly in an emergency, a transport function keeps support in place between beds, and cells are individually replaceable. Both the mattress and its four-way stretch, vapour permeable, fluid resistant cover machine wash to 95 degrees and can be tumble dried. Key features: • Active alternating pressure replacement system for the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries up to category 4 • 20 cm air cells, the tallest in the CuroCell A4 range • Rated for users up to 250 kg • Static head cells keep the pillow area steady • Integrated heel function for targeted offloading • Fully automated pump adapts to the user, no manual settings • Three program modes: Pulsation (default), Alternating and CLP (constant low pressure) • Controlled air flow for constant pressure, comfort and lower energy use • Audible and visible notifications for carers • Multi-functional inner cover reduces shear forces • Individually replaceable cells, CPR function and Pack&Go deflation • Mattress and cover machine washable to 95 degrees, tumble dry safe

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes, in most cases. Non-powered pressure relieving mattresses and overlays are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology or Aged Care Home Care Packages when recommended by a clinician — typically an occupational therapist or wound care nurse. We are a registered NDIS provider and can supply quotes addressed to your plan manager or support coordinator.
What is the difference between an overlay, a mattress replacement, and an underlay?
An overlay sits on top of your existing mattress to add pressure relief — ideal for lower-risk users or as a first step. A mattress replacement removes your existing mattress entirely and provides a full clinical pressure care surface. An underlay sits beneath an alternating air overlay or mattress replacement to prevent 'bottoming out' and protect against pressure spikes. Our team can help you choose the right product for your clinical risk level.
How long does delivery take?
In-stock orders are dispatched the next business day. Standard delivery is 2–5 business days to most metro areas. Express options are available at checkout. Rural and remote deliveries may take slightly longer — contact us for an estimate.
Can I return it if it's not suitable?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition and packaging. Due to hygiene requirements, mattresses and overlays cannot be returned once used unless the product is faulty. If you are unsure which product is right for your clinical situation, we strongly recommend contacting our team before purchasing — we are happy to assist.
Can I trial the product before buying?
Yes — we offer in-person demonstrations at our Picton showroom. Can't make it to Picton? Contact our team and we'll do our best to help, including referrals to local allied health professionals in your area who can assist with product selection and trial.
