About This Product

Not everyone needs a hospital-grade seating system. Plenty of wheelchair users need a cushion that is genuinely comfortable for long days of sitting, protects skin and soft tissue, and does not cost four figures. That is the job of the ROHO Mosaic, the entry point to ROHO's air cell range. It works on the same principle that made ROHO cushions famous. Large, interconnected polyvinyl air cells let you sink into the cushion rather than perch on top of it. Air flows between the cells as you move, so the surface keeps matching your shape and your weight spreads across the whole seat instead of concentrating on bony points. Setup is quick. Open the single valve, inflate with the supplied hand pump, sit down, then release air until you are resting on a buffer of air above the base. A quick hand check confirms the fit, and the same valve makes day-to-day adjustments simple. At 70 mm high and light enough to carry, it moves easily between chairs. Every Mosaic comes with a zippered cover with a non-slip base to keep it planted on the wheelchair seat. Choose the standard breathable lycra cover, or the fluid-resistant incontinence cover for continence needs. The cushion itself is flame-retardant, DEHP-free polyvinyl, and it hand washes in warm water with mild soap then air dries. Three sizes cover most wheelchairs: 41 x 41 cm, 46 x 41 cm and 46 x 46 cm, rated to a maximum user weight of 143 kg. If you are at high risk of pressure injuries, or already managing one, talk to us before you buy. A DRY FLOATATION cushion may be the safer choice, and we can help you decide. Key features: • Large interconnected polyvinyl air cells share air as you move, matching the cushion to your shape • Weight spreads across the whole seat for a comfortable, functional sitting environment • Air pressure is adjustable and customised with the supplied hand pump • Lightweight and easy to set up • 70 mm cell height • Breathable zippered lycra cover with a non-slip base • Optional fluid-resistant incontinence cover for continence needs • Flame-retardant, DEHP-free polyvinyl construction with a nickel-plated brass valve • Hand washes in warm water with mild soap, then air dries • Three sizes: 41 x 41 cm, 46 x 41 cm and 46 x 46 cm • Maximum user weight 143 kg

Frequently Asked Questions

Can pressure care cushions be funded through NDIS or Aged Care?
Yes. Pressure care and positioning cushions are commonly funded under NDIS Assistive Technology when prescribed by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or seating specialist following a seating assessment. Higher-cost cushions (ROHO, Jay range, Equagel) typically require a formal OT or seating assessment for NDIS funding. They can also be funded under Aged Care Home Care Packages. Our team can provide NDIS-compliant invoices.
How do I choose between foam, gel, and air cushions?
Foam cushions (Jay Basic, All Purpose, Posture Wedge) suit users with low to moderate pressure risk who need everyday comfort. Gel cushions (Gel-T, Equagel) provide better pressure redistribution and temperature regulation for moderate risk users. Air cushions (ROHO) provide the highest level of pressure redistribution and are typically prescribed for users with active pressure injuries or high risk. A seating specialist or OT can recommend the most appropriate option following assessment.
Do I need an OT assessment to purchase a cushion?
For lower-cost comfort cushions, you can purchase without an assessment. For clinical pressure care cushions (ROHO, Jay range, Equagel) that will be NDIS-funded, a seating assessment by an OT or physiotherapist is generally required. Our team works closely with OTs and can help connect you with one in your area. Call us on 1300 216 888.
How do I clean a pressure care cushion?
Most cushion covers are removable and machine washable. Foam inserts should be spot cleaned only — do not submerge foam in water. Gel and fluid inserts can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild disinfectant. ROHO air cushions can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Check individual product care instructions as cleaning methods vary by cushion type.
What is the return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days for products in original, unused condition. For hygiene reasons, cushions that have been used cannot be returned. We strongly recommend confirming the correct cushion type with our team or an OT before purchasing, particularly for clinical pressure care products.
